Straight answer: no downloader — xi included — can download private Facebook videos. Videos shared with 'Friends', 'Friends except...', custom lists or private groups are only served to authorized viewers. Facebook's servers refuse everyone else. Sites claiming otherwise want your login credentials or want to infect your device.
There are many ways to save Facebook videos — screen recording, browser extensions, third-party apps — but most come with trade-offs. Screen recordings lose quality and capture notifications and UI elements. Third-party apps often demand your Facebook login (a real account-theft risk), show aggressive ads, or quietly upload your contacts. Browser extensions can read everything you browse.
xi avoids all of that:
On iPhone (Safari): open xi at apiproai.com, paste the link and tap Download. When the file is ready, tap the download icon in Safari's address bar, open the file, then tap the Share button and choose Save Video (or Save Image) to move it into your Photos library.
On Android (Chrome): the process is even simpler — after tapping Download on xi, the file saves straight to your Downloads folder and appears in your gallery app automatically.
On desktop: paste the link into xi, click Download, and the file lands in your browser's download folder. From there you can rename it, move it, or import it into any video editor.
"No media found" or empty result: the most common cause is a private or deleted post. Copy a fresh link directly from the Facebook app (Share → Copy Link) rather than from a screenshot or a third-party site, and try again.
Download starts but never finishes: switch to a stable Wi-Fi connection and avoid VPNs that throttle traffic. Very long videos can take a minute or two to prepare — give it time before retrying.
Button doesn't respond on iPhone: make sure you're using Safari (not the in-app browser of another app). If the page seems stuck, pull down to refresh and paste the link again.
File won't play: MP4 and MP3 from xi play in every modern player. If your gallery app can't open it, try VLC — it's free and handles everything.
Correct — xi handles public videos only, same as every legitimate downloader.
Still no — group-restricted content isn't publicly fetchable.
No. Ask them to send the file or make it public.
Because people search for it. Google them and you'll find warnings — they're phishing operations.
